Honour Killing Story
born: 1996
stoned to death: 27. June 2020
Residence: Wadda Chachar, Jamshoro, Pakistan
Origin: Pakistan
Children: no
On 27 June, a mutilated corpse with serious head injuries was found on a highway in Pakistan, which the police identified as the body of the 24-year-old Waziran from the village of Wadda Chachar.
Sindh Police say that the woman's father, Gurl Muhammed, initially declared that her death was an accident, but that he later retracted that statement and assumed that she was murdered by her husband Allah Baks and his brother Kareem. There is video footage of the father screaming on his daughter's grave for justice for his daughter.
Police assume an honour killing in which Waziran has been pelted with stones and repeatedly beaten with a wooden stick in Jamshoro.
Both men have been arrested by the police and are now in custody. According to Allah Baksh, her own family is responsible for the stoning because they could not cope with her own choice to marry him.
A team of 3 policemen will investigate the murder further.

What is an honour killing? |
An honour killing is a murder in the name of honour. If a brother murders his sister to restore family honour, it is an honour killing. According to activists, the most common reasons for honour killings are as the victim:
Human rights activists believe that 100,000 honour killings are carried out every year, most of which are not reported to the authorities and some are even deliberately covered up by the authorities themselves, for example because the perpetrators are good friends with local policemen, officials or politicians. Violence against girls and women remains a serious problem in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Serbia and Turkey. |
